Snowshoeing Aspen Snowmass allows you to take in picturesque winter landscapes. During your next Snowmass ski holiday, experience a unique mountain adventure.
Snowshoe tours are available through the Snowmass Cross Country Ski & Snowshoe Center. The Center offers private guided tours on trails in and around Snowmass Village. One of their guided tours is on Owl Creek Trail. With its varied terrain comprised of gentle, rolling hills, snowshoeing on Owl Creek Trail is fun, and offer great views.
The Snowmass Cross Country Ski & Snowshoe Center also offers guided snowshoe tours on Snowmass Mountain. Their professional guides lead guests to Government Trail by way of Two Creeks lift. A trail that connects Snowmass Mountain to Buttermilk Mountain, the Government Trail is approximately 8 miles one way, and presents subtle terrain changes, being primarily downhill on the way to Buttermilk, and uphill back to Snowmass Village.
The Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES) also provides guided snowshoe tours during the winter season. ACES naturalist guided snowshoe tours on Snowmass Mountain are a great learning experience. The naturalists discuss winter ecology in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. ACES also offers their guided snowshoe tours on Snowmass Mountain during Ullr Nights, a popular winter Snowmass event held every Friday during the ski season. During these twilight snowshoe tours, you trek through quiet evergreen forests, beneath a blanket of bright, twinkling stars.
