The Red Brick Center for the Arts invites you to another scenic opening, “Awesomblage”, featuring works with Bill Gruenberg, Kathy Honea and Donna Linnecke. Opening reception tonight, February 4, from 5-7 p.m. Then head out around town for the Aspen Sojourner 1st Thursdays Art Walk, a free tour of town’s more interesting galleries and displays. The Owl Creek Chase is a USSA sanctioned race, part of the Super Tour NorAm series and the North American Cup Marathon Series. And it’s coming to Aspen and Snowmass, on February 12. It’s a 21k Freestyle Cross-Country Race, from the Snowmass cross-country center to the Aspen cross-country center.
Racers can enter the Elite Division, or the Citizens Division, finding their personal best amidst Olympic level skiing. It’s an excellent mid-winter challenge, right here across some of the valley’s most scenic nordic trails. For more info, 970-429-2093.

Don’t miss the story of the Jackson Hole Air Force, a documentary of the rebel backcountry pioneers who skiied where none dared to venture. Today, they’re known as the fathers of the extreme skiing movement. “Swift. Silent.
