Image: Snowmass Balloon Festival[/caption] The Snowmass Balloon Festival takes flight from September 12 – 14, 2014 in Snowmass Village! Now in its 39th year, the Snowmass Balloon Festival is an annual fall event that showcases the colorful and bright hot air balloons of enthusiasts and balloonists from all over the Rocky Mountain region and the United States. The schedule of events for this year's fest includes a three hour hot air balloon race, a stunning coordinated morning launch called the SnowMASS Ascension, and an evening event on Snowmass Mountain called Night Glow. The Night Glow event is scheduled for Saturday, September 13 from 7:45 – 9:00 pm, and will be held on Fanny Hill. This free and family-friendly event will feature a hot air balloon “glow show”, live music, food, and beverages. If you and the family are planning attending the fest, keep an eye out for one hot air balloon. Bearing the Colorado flag, “Colorado High” is a balloon piloted by seasoned balloonist Patrick Carter that has been in every Snowmass Balloon Festival to date.
